The 2.2.0 branch was developed for ESS requirements on EVRs, almost fully functional features with the following model:

* PCIe-EVR-300DC
* MTCA-EVR-300 and MTCA-EVR-300U

Of course, MD stayed at ESS during this summer with bad weather. Thank you, Michael! :)

The MTCA platform support is the major goal in that branch, and at the same time PCIe-EVR-300 should be ready.

ESS needs to deploy the simple timing system a lot around EU. In order to reduce cost, we would like to have the stand-alone EVR instead of an external EVG inputs. This branch also has the full (?) support on this new feature.

We are evaluating this branch with linux_x86_64 and linux_ppc64xxxx. Technically, both are linux, but one is based on intel, and the other is on powerpc.

Once we have some results, which we would like to share with EPICS community, I will let you know.

Best,
Han

Version 2.2.0 of the mrfioc2 driver for MRF timing cards is now available.

This release adds support for newer 300 series PCI devices. Some
incompatible changes have been made since the previous 2.1.0 release.
The minimum required versions of Base and devlib2 have been updated.
See the supported hardware list and change log for details.
