FWIIS, None of the existing EPICS GUI software have been designed or optimized for use with any touch screen device. While this is not much of an issue if you are just pushing buttons, it starts to get ugly if multiple displays are the same screen, or you start to deal with numeric and text entry. Your probably still have to use a keyboard and mouse/pointing device more often that you would like, and lifting an arm to a screen to change options gets old VERY fast, as does resizing clickable regions to be finger sized and not mouse pointer sized. If you have an apple/android phone/tablet, I would suggest installing caqtdm on that hardware. Would give you an idea of the general feel of using a touch device before you buy one. Or borrow someone touch screen windows laptop. From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of yak man Dear all, Im looking to a linux touch panel pc, I'll use that in the operators console, therefore the reliability is important. The size could be 19. Im planning to use that with CSS. Please give me your suggestions based on the experience. Have you got models/brands good/bad to this ?
