There's currently no way to _not_ accomplish this.
Macros are passed down from the parent to the child displays (embedded, opened via action button).
Open the example displays, "Macros", "More Macro Hierarchy Examples".

I spent a lot of time searching the documentation and tech-talk, but cannot find a means of forwarding macros from one display to another. I would like the top level display to define a macro value when it opens another display; then I would like this 2nd display's action button open another display and either forward or simply keep the macro value from the top display. Is there a way to accomplish this?
