is Open!The
Spring 2021 EPICS Collaboration Meeting will be hosted virtually by the Canadian Light Source (Saskatoon, Canada) from June 1 to June 4.https://indico.lightsource.ca/e/spring-2021Following
the excellent example set by the Fritz Haber Institut, the sessions will all be live. We wish to preserve the interactive nature of an in-person meeting. Unfortunately this makes it difficult to choose a time that is convenient for all timezones. We have
settled on 14:00 to 18:00 GMT (8AM to Noon CST in Saskatoon). The
program is still very preliminary, and will depend on the nature of the talks that are submitted. However we have identified some potential themes. Planning is underway for a new synchrotron in Canada. Therefore, we are particularly interested in the future
of EPICS. Where does the community see EPICS 5 years from now? 10 years from now? What would you do differently if you had the chance to start over? For
most of us the past year brought abrupt changes to how we work, where we work, and how we support our users. We are interested to hear stories from the EPICS community about your facility's pandemic response. What changes were made, what solutions did you
find, and what features are still on your wishlist? What is the status of your facility now?We
are also planning a special vendor day. This is an initiative of the EPICS Council to inspire EPICS in industry, both suppliers and users. To
generate as much participation as possible, we are encouraging talks of various lengths, from 5 minute Lightning Talks (no questions) to 15 or 20 minute talks. Please indicate how much time you would like when you submit your abstracts.
More information regarding the hosting platform and the meeting timetable will be distributed via email, tech talk, and the event website as the meeting approaches. Thanks you, and we encourage you to register!https://indico.lightsource.ca/e/spring-2021
