You are using the $id to increment the file number within a scan? But you want to increment the base file name as well? That seems like a reasonable feature request.

It seems like setting AutoRemove should fix the issue, but I’d be interested to hear if it does.

Also, FWAutoRemove = Yes should solve the problem?

I was just trying to understand where I might have gone astray, something I have a knack for.

Hi John,

I don’t think that what you are doing has ever been tested. It works on ADPilatus, where the driver checks the file creation time. But I don’t think that check is done in ADEiger. Even if it were done, if the clocks are not synchronized it won’t work. Can you use the Stream interface instead as a workaround?

What does "as soon as they are available" mean, i.e. how is availability determined?

I asked because we encountered a problem in which the IOC was downloading stale files from the previous acquisition.

The PV, EIG500:EIG:FWAutoRemove was set to 'No', and EIG500:EIG:FWNamePattern was constant, so with each acquisition the files get overwritten on the DCU. The IOC was grabbing old files before they got overwritten.

There was a time discrepancy between the DCU and the IOC. Would that lead the IOC to determine the files were available when in fact they weren't.?
