Hi Jong, You are using asyn R4-38 and are worried because motor R7-2 says it needs asyn R4-37. This is not a problem. We try hard to maintain backwards compatibility in asyn releases, so it is safe to use a newer release. Newer releases are recommended, since more bugs are fixed. If a release breaks backward compatibility then
that is discussed in the release notes. Mark From: Tech-talk <tech-talk-bounces at aps.anl.gov>
On Behalf Of Jong Woo Kim via Tech-talk Hello,
We are planning to install and build motor record for PI C-887.
According to the above website, R7-1 requires the following submodules. Asyn R4-35 IPAC R2-15 LUA R1-3 MODBUS R2-11 The following is our EPICS info.
base-3.15.6; SynApps-6-1; motor-R7-1
Asyn R4-38 IPAC R2-15 LUA R2-0 MODBUS R3-0 I am worried about the compatibility issue.
What about installation of R7-2? because required submodules are the same as ours except Asyn.
motor-R7-2 requires
Asyn R4-37 IPAC R2-15 LUA R2-0 MODBUS R3-0
Best, Jong |
