In my last position, we had an OceanSight spectrometer and after a fairly exhaustive look, concluded that for our use-case, any EPICS support had to be built based on wrapping DLLs. In the end, for that particular experiment, we did not control with EPICS and used the provided software. 

Someone else might have had a different experience though.

Has anybody used spectrometers from OceanInsight? I am wondering about their compatibility for a remote control system other than their proprietary software. I could not find information on the modules’ page on EPICS’ website, also their manuals do not contain any information about remote control interface, only through their software.
