Subject: re2c on Windows
I am trying to help someone build EPICS on Windows. They need to have a copy of re2c. I see that on my Windows machine I have re2c.exe which I put in C:\Program
Files\re2c. When I run that I see the version is 1.0.3.
C:\Windows\System32>re2c --version
re2c 1.0.3
On Windows things are not quite as smooth. The
old
re2c download page on sourceforge contains pre-built binaries for Windows systems, albeit only up to version 0.13.5. If this doesn’t work for
you, there is EPICS-re2c,
a version of re2c that has been wrapped as an EPICS module. There is also a Windows build of
re2c-1.0.3
on Appveyor.
However, that artifact on Appveyor no longer exists, because they appear to only be kept for 1 month.
The re2c source version linked in the documentation that builds with the EPICS build system is here:
But that is re2c 0.16, so does not seem to be what was used to build 1.0.3.
Where are new EPICS Windows users supposed to find re2c?
