Currently, the available cpu is mvme3100, and this cpu is compatible with version 6.9 of vxworks, so we want to select it.
Please be aware that - driven by a recent change in the licensing/pricing policies of the VxWorks vendor WindRiver - a couple of large US laboratories, long-term VxWorks users, decided to move away from VxWorks and base their VME systems on the RTEMS operating system.
If you start a new project now and base it on VxWorks, you may find yourself in a situation at a later time where there are not many other EPICS users on VxWorks left.
Depending on your project schedule and lifetime, your long-term maintenance strategies, and your estimated need for EPICS-on-VxWorks support from the community, this could become a problem in the future.
