Dear all,
We have a control system built for our beamline using CS-Studio and EPICS. In recent months, we have installed new components controlled via Ethernet-IP which has taken me under the hood of our control system as I’ve added the extremely useful ‘ether-ip’
extension.
While doing this work, I’ve taken to using CSS Phoebus as the editor is much more straightforward and I could very easily install on my personal laptop. However, I’ve noticed that some ‘Action’ functionality that could previously be assigned to other widgets
no longer works. For example, in our previous CS-Studio implementation, we had an action that if you clicked on a box drawing of the beamline, a new window would open. We can work around that, but it leads to another problem that I’m trying to solve.
To improve the usability of our control system, I’d like to add an ‘Action’ controlled script that changes the background colour on a ’Spinner’ widget, if the value is changed from the value calculated by a calc field in our software IOC. I’ve been able
to add a script fine and in a non-triggered mode, the background colour changes. However, if I add it as an ‘Action’ to the Spinner it doesn’t work.
Is this expected? Does anyone have any ideas of how else I may solve this?
Many thanks,
Sam
