I don't think so.
The Google universe has many different services. They're all linked and well integrated, but separate. (Like good control system software should be.)
They announced that the public version of Google+ (status messages, comments, pages, circles, communities) will go away August 2019. They will continue the product in the enterprise G-Suite, as an internal means of communication (to keep customers from moving to Slack, I would say).
I assume Google will move the appointment/invitation/rsvp functionality into Google calendar (where it belongs). So eventually me might not have to change much at all.
August 2019. Wait and see.
Cheers,
~Ralph
Any idea if the 'hangout' video meeting is affected?
