Experimental Physics and Industrial Control System
Hi,
I'm trying to get a HK Baja4700 to use a Digital Fast EtherWorks/PMC Adapter
(DE520-AA) network interface card. Does anybody have experience of this
combination?
What I've done so far:
Plugged the fast Ethernet card into Baja PMC expansion site -J1x (Jumper J1
is removed to select IEEE-802.3 Ethernet protocol).
And watched the following be displayed on a console connected to the Baja:
Baja power up tests passed
.
.
.
VEND DEV REV BASE0 BASE1 BASE2 BASE3 BASE4 BASE5
1011 9 22 30000000 20000000 .... .... .... ....
...Some stuff about Heurikon Baja
boot device: ei
processor number: 0
.
IP addresses and
more boot stuff for vxWorks 5.3
.
.
Mapping RAM base to A32 space at 0x40000000... done
Waiting for VME /SYSFAIL to clear... done
Attaching network interface ei0... done
Attaching network interface lo0... done
Loading...
Waiting long enough the following is displayed and the vxWorks boot prompt
appears:
Error Loading File: errno 0x3c (timeout)
When the Baja's built-in Ethernet socket is used the loading continues
normally and all progresses well (using the same boot parameters).
The green led on the fast Ethernet card is lit, showing it is connected to
an active network, but the activity led, showing an RX or TX in process,
never lights.
I've used the vxWorks Boot prompt command 'd' to read the address 0x1f01000
which shows bit 4=0, indicating that PMC site J1x is occupied (bit 5=1,
showing J2x is empty).
Obviously I've missed something, does anybody have any ideas at to what it
may be?
Thanks in advance,
Alastair Borrowman
