I am not aware of any IOC based tools that support this *directly*. It
would be a useful utility if you chose to develop it.
However, there is always the hack!
If you have a spare record in your IOC (e.g. a soft AI record) you could ...
dbpf "softAI.INP", "externalPV"
dptr "softAI"
The STAT field will reflect if the external PV was found, the .VAL will
reflect its value.
