Hi,

 

The Point Grey driver is not compatible with the areaDetector-1-9-1 version.  If you are using synApps_5_7 that is quite old, and has old versions of asyn, etc.

 

Here is what I recommend:

 

Get the latest released version of the following from https://github.com/epics-modules

 asyn

  busy

  calc

  sscan

  autosave

  iocStats

 

You can use git clone and then git checkout to checkout the latest released version, or you can get the appropriate tar file from github.

 

You can either copy the top-level synApps_5_7/support/configure tree to a new location or get a new version at https://github.com/EPICS-synApps.

 

Get the following from https://github.com/areaDetector

areaDetector R2-4

ADCore  R2-4

ADBinaries R2-2

ADExample R2-1

ADPointGrey R2-3

 

You can use git clone and then git checkout to checkout the versions listed above, or you can get the appropriate tar file from github.

 

Build the new versions of the synApps modules.  Then follow the areaDetector/INSTALL_GUIDE.md to build areaDetector.

Hello :
I'm a student of Tsinghua University and I have a problem about installing areaDetector.
 I have already installed synApps and base , the asyn is in the synApps . I want to use PointGrey camera so I want to install an another areaDetector because the one in synApps didn't have Point Grey driver . But after I changed the path and others just like the INSTALL_GUIDE.md said , there is a mistake when I tpye "make". It says
 "/disk1/epics/distrib/synApps_5_7/support/areaDetector-1-9-1/ADApp/simDetectorSrc/O.linux-x86_64/simDetectorApp_registerRecordDeviceDriver.cpp:607: undefined reference to `pvar_func_NDFileMagickRegister'
collect2: error: ld returned 1 exit status"
At first , it can not find files "libbusy.a" and something like that.So I copied those file into the folder areaDetector/lib/linux-x86_64 , and it worked. I have already defined support and its subdirectories and I think these problems should not happen . I hope ypu can solve my problem .
