Experimental Physics and Industrial Control System
Hi Iain,
In addition to modifying configure/RELEASE, you also have to add the following two lines to
firstApp/src/Makefile
first_DBD += calc.dbd
first_LIBS += calc
and then do "make rebuild" in the "first" directory.

Subject: Using synApps calc in simple IOC
I am attempting to test synApps calc in a simple IOC to use in a later project. I have been following the instructions from:
http://www.aps.anl.gov/epics/docs/APS2014/11-Creating-IOCs.pdf
for creating the IOC. I have included the path to synApps calc in
configure/RELEASE
but when I start the IOC I get the message:
Record "name" is of unknown type "acalcout"
Adding
dbLoadDatabase("${CALC}/dbd/calc.dbd")
fails when the includes specified in calc.dbd cannot be found.
Doing a cd to "${CALC}/dbd" followed by an include fails when trying to include dbCommon.
Thank you for your consideration.
Iain.
