I'm attaching an Excel spreadsheet which is what documented the PVA environment variables on the original EPICS V4 website. We seem to have missed that when creating the EPICS 7 documentation. Some of the variables in this may be out of date and/or conflict with the newer PVXS definitions, but this is probably a good place to start for any new documentation that we develop.

I will prepare an announcement – or first “save the date” kind of message – for that event as soon as I can figure out some details. But we have an OK for the event so it is going to happen.

Hello everyone,

 

I am currently studying EPICS Channel Access (CA) and PV Access (PVAccess and PVXS), particularly the server/client-side environment variables used for run-time configuration. While researching, I came across very good documentation for EPICS CA, which can be found in the links below:

However, I am having difficult finding good documentation for PVA on the EPICS base site:

Although, I did find some information on the PVXS site thanks to Michael Davidsaver, I still feel that is not sufficient. Here is the link to the information I found:

Could someone please point me in the direction of a reference document that provides more comprehensive information on PVA?
