9. Moving Objects into the Foreground and Background

Sometimes you will transpose objects, either accidentally or on purpose, and one of the objects will be obscured. You can use the front option to move the obscured object to the foreground or the back option to move an object that is obscuring another object to the background. When two objects are transposed, the object that is visible is the object in the foreground, and the object that is obscured is the object in the background. The front and back options are in the Modify menu.

To move an object into the foreground:

1. Select the object you wish to move into the foreground.

2. Choose the front option.

To move an object into the background:

1. Select the object you wish to move into the background.

2. Choose the back option.
NOTE: DM has no front or back options, so during run-time you cannot move an object that is obscured into the foreground. Therefore, you will not want to transpose dynamic objects. On the other hand, you may want to transpose a dynamic and a static object, placing the dynamic object in the foreground.
