MVME162's for remote I/O |

Could someone confirm my suspicions.
Is it possible to use MVME162's for remote I/O within the EPICS environment?
i.e. is it possible to use a 162 either as a mini IOC or as an out-station for
an IOC connected to it by ethernet?
My understanding is that it can't be used as an IOC CPU and that it must be
used in the same chassis as the main IOC CPU.
Thanks,
John.
