pvget to an _output_ record |

It turns out that we have a situation where a pvget directed to
an ouptput record needs to do some processing (read the actual
device) rather than simply return the restored value.
I've looked at the IOC Application Developers Guide, as well as the
"Drivers Education" document, and it's not clear how to to this, or
even if it can be done
I see that the record structures include entries for things like:
long rbv; /* Readback Value */
long orbv; /* Prev Readback Value */
etc
but it's not clear how these values get set and who uses them. Or even if
they are applicable to the problem.
But I don't see anything here that would tell device support if it should be
doing a read or a write.
Any help/pointers (pun intended) would be appreciated.
