Dear All,I can't remember that any package was missing while building EPICS base, but for the extensions (esp. the Motif-applications) you definitely need a Motif-library. I strongly suggest to install the "original" Open Motif packages (libmotif3 and libmotiv-dev) instead of the lesstif-packages. Unfortunately the Open Motif packages are *not* available in Debian 4.0 (etch - the current "stable" distribution) and have to be installed from the current "testing" distribution.
I am trying to use EPICS in Debian 4.0 latest release. But I am unable to build the base itself. I feel some more packages are to be installed.
I am requesting those who have used EPICS on Debian based linux to tell me what are the extra packages I should load for running epics base, medm, probe, channel archiver etc. on Debian 4.0 Linux.
Regards, Thomas
