Experimental Physics and Industrial Control System
Hi,
I'm using a PV Gateway (built under epics 3.14) in alias mode to
handle channel access load for an IOC still running epics 3.12. I've
solved the problems where the gateway was crashing and am now seeing
some strange performance issues:
1) Even though a channel is being provided by the gateway (in the
Virtual Connection report with the correct clients listed with
read/write access and Active in the PV Summary report), there seems to
be no response from the gateway when one of the clients (another ioc
running epics 3.13) attempts to write the channel. However, if I start
a camonitor (epics 3.13) of the appropriate channels ... all clients now
communicate correctly.
2) Most clients have no problem establishing connections through the
gateway, however the first 1-2 times a client writes to channels through
the gateway, the order of the commands is often but not always mixed up
... ie Write the START directive and then configure the CAD inputs;
although the gateway received the puts in the correct order. Generally,
after a few writes the order is almost always preserved ... but it still
isn't 100% reliable.
Does anyone have any idea what's going on here?
Thanks,
Angelic
