Dave, What version of autosave are you using? Are any of the PV's that autosave is monitoring updating very rapidly? (In the most common use of autosave, in which create_monitor_set() is called, autosave puts a CA monitor on all of the PV's in the list, so it will know if any have changed, and so it will have current values when it's time to write a .sav file.)
Everyone...
We are currently running a Soft IOC on a Linux based PC, and are using it to communicate to a Modicon PLC, using the Mark River's Modbus software. This IOC currently has ~4000 PV's on it.
A few months ago, we upgraded the epics software on this IOC to include the Auto Save/Restore. We are saving 258 PV's every 10 seconds, and an additional 258 PV's every 10 minutes.
This has worked fine, but we have discovered that, over a few days, the load steps from less than 1, on up to 5, with the CPU at %100. We never noticed this behavior prior to installing Auto Save/Restore, and don't have this issue with any of our other IOC's.
Any thoughts/ideas on what may be causing this? Thanks...
