Subject: Suggestions for NMR units

Hi everyone,

We've recently been looking at upgrading an older manual-only NMR
instrument. I was wondering if any EPICS users have NMR recommendations,
both on EPICS capability & long-term reliability grounds.

I realise most modern units have simple serial or TCP interfaces that
can be automated with StreamDevice. On the other hand I've found that
sometimes these interfaces can be less functional in reality than what
is described in the manual (connection lockups, buggy commands,
etc)...

Any (positive) experiences with NMR units would be greatly
appreciated, especially using them in feedback loops. :)

Cheers,

Angus
