Hi John.I have some applications that use StreamDevice to acquire waveforms, and those waveform records are normally on a periodic scan. I have a couple of records which provide the display manager (EDM, here) with a choice button for the scan rate, one choice of which is 'Pause'. This sets the waveform record to scan 'passive', thus stopping the acquisition. You can attach a choice button directly to the .SCAN field of the record that triggers an acquisition, but there will be some values that operators probably don't want to see or select. This may differ from what you really want, as the entire acquisition stops in this scenario, not just the display. You might be able to use a system of records that duplicates the waveform; one for continuous processing, and another for visualization only.

Hello All, I am using a CSS XY graph to display a waveform. The graph actually displays the last n values on the waveform presenting an oscilloscope like trace. I would like to be able to pause the display. Can someone recommend a way of doing this? Regards, John Dobbins Lab for Elementary Particle Physics Cornell University
