Here are some fault isolation steps. o make certain that you can ping your soft IOC from where MEDM runs. o make certain that the linux firewall for your soft ioc grants access to the CA server
port numbers (typical 5064) o make certain that MEDM and the soft IOC are on the same subnet, If not you may need
to set the EPICS_CA_ADDR_LIST o Note also that currently
when two soft IOCs run on the same host that it is difficult to reach both of them with UDP unicast based search messages (the default UDP broadcast based configuration works fine) Jeff From:

On Behalf Of ??? I have built a softIOC on my Linux rhel5(base3.14.9-prel,ASYN4-8,Stream Device-2-3). When running the application, it works well(using "dbpf" can set channel value,
and the device can get the setting). But when executing MEDM, the objects turn white. It is very strange(the control channel of object in MEDM and the record in db file have the same name ). |
