Hi,
At STAR experiment at BNL, we have been working on implementing the RDB Archiver. Recently, that has come to the attention of our computing group. In short, they are wondering a number of things on us running the database server for the RDB Archiver.
One of the question being asked that I have no information is that how much disk space would it really needs? So, for example, I know with Oracle, RDB Archiver can take 8000 PV/second. But, how much disk space does it really requires per one day? In particular, since we will be using MySQL as opposed to Oracle, if anybody could let me know your archiving frequency and disk requirement per day would really be useful…
Thanks in advance.
