Has anyone implemented a cost effective solution for monitoring large quantities (~96) of thermal diodes for cryogenic temperature monitoring (down to 2K)? The solution proposed here is either the Lakeshore Model 218 or Model 224, both of which are ~$250/channel ... I was hoping to find something cheaper.
The SNS uses Highland Technology V460 for monitoring silicon diodes on the superconducting linac (2K) . . .
http://www.highlandtechnology.com/DSS/V460DS.shtmlWhether this would be cheaper then the lakeshore depends on if you already have the VME crate.
