Experimental Physics and Industrial Control System
Hi Mark, tech-talk folk,
I have a detector which occasionally skips frames, and I would like the file saving plugin to skip the corresponding files so that the actual frame numbers embedded in the image data match the file names. After reading the docs I figured I should be able to use the special attribute "FilePluginFileNumber" to do this, so I modified my driver to set this attribute in the NDArray attribute list.
So far so good, but I found when I tried it that the NDFileTiff plugin ignored it because the boolean 'useAttrFilePrefix' is false. As far as I can see, this is only set to true for capture mode (which I'm not using), and only then when the "FilePluginFileName" attribute is also set. Am I missing something about how this is supposed to work, or is this kind of a new way of using this feature? I think if possible it would be good to have two independent parameters (settable via records) to specify whether the two special attributes are used to create the file name.
By the way, I am using AreaDetector 1-9-1.
Thanks,
Emma
