On the machine that is working type:

printenv | grep EPICS

at the shell and

epicsPrtEnvParams

at the IOC prompt.

On the machine that is not working do the same thing.

And on the machine that is not working at the shell do

caget SOME_PV_NAME
cainfo SOME_PV_NAME

It could be you will be able to access the PVs using the caget and cainfo commands, which use the C CA library, but not from CSS which uses the Java CA library. I think CSS uses a different mechanism to set EPICS_CA_ADDR_LIST, etc.

I have changed that variables but still not working.

I have the same configuration of that machine, here, and it works, without internet. And it is not connected, no cable.

Thanks.

Julio.

If the Ethernet port is disconnected then CA does not work. I think if you set EPICS_CA_AUTO_ADDR_LIST=NO and EPICS_CA_ADDR_LIST=localhost it will work, but I am not certain.

You could also just plug the Ethernet cable into a cheap switch with nothing else connected to it :-)

Subject: All Pvs disconnected

Hello,

I have move a computer from my lab, it was working perfectly, it was connected to internet, now, this computer is in other place without internet connection for security reasons. I have open the IOC, pvs are ok after dbl. But CSS GUI appears as disconnected, any idea?. I have done this several times and I never found this problem. Do I have to configure something?.

Thanks.

Julio.
