Does the expected value of the reading for that SI record depend on some other output record having already processed? If so, that can explain the failure during PINI because the SI record may have processed before the required output record. If this is the problem then you may be able to fix it by using the PHAS field to control the order in which records with PINI process.

The result, after switching on the debug message in snmp is:
_main_: Process CRPC:HZDR:VME:CR1:psSerial
2014/11/06 12:51:39 devSnmp SI read error 'CRPC:HZDR:VME:CR1:psSerial' : oid
has no valid reading
Some others show the same error message, but later during scanning return
reasonable results.
