Experimental Physics and Industrial Control System
Hi Michael,
We evaluated couple of options some time ago:
1. Thumbs up for Hytec -- there are for example DIN-rail mountable IOC and PCIe mezzanine, both with a selection of IP modules. IP modules come with EPICS driver (AsynPortDriver-based, some freely downloadable from Hytec's website)
2. DNA-Box (and perhaps some other) products of United Electronics Industries come with full EPICS support and source-codes.
3. Since we have plenty of National Instruments HW around here, another two ideas where to look:
-- On EPICS 2014 meeting, there was presentation of RIO-family of products support for EPICS:
"Methodology for development of intelligent Data and Image Acquisition systems using EPICS and FlexRIO technology (presentations/Thursday/Dsanz_EPICS-FlexRIO-UPM_EPICS_2014.pdf)"
It supposed to be a development for ITER, I think. The guy who presented was interested in collaboration, testing, etc..
-- There is an ongoing development of EPICS drivers for NI stuff in CODAC system (high-speed PXIe cards, last time I've checked)
Regardless the options, I'm curious what is going to be your choice at the end ?
Cheers,
Tomas

Předmět: mid-speed digitizer options?
All,
I've been asked for advise on finding a digitizer for a fast thermometry
application (RTDs). The desire is for a sampling range in the range of
50-100 KSPS with 16-bit resolution over +-10 V. There will be ~200
channels in total, so I think a high density solution would be
appropriate. Pre-existing epics support is of course a plus.
The first solution to come to my mind is industry pack. Something like
the hytec IP-VAD-8418.
What options are available for this "middle" speed range?
Thanks,
Michael
