My 2 cts:I have used (in production systems) old DEC700 terminal servers, the Lantronix SLC series, and Moxa NPort servers. The DEC were basic (TTY only configuration, no ssh) and took ~10-12 years to die. From the latter two, I remember the Lantronix units having two network interfaces (nice for out-of-band management), while the NPort can remotely configure individual ports to be RS232 or RS485 (nice for a one-thing-hosts-all application).
