Yes, the Archive Appliance is probably the highest performance archive solution that we currently have for EPICS, and the Data Browser is meant to be intuitive, so in combination this is what you ought to see.
Initial setup takes some time (operational archive appliance with load balancing, access control, reliable long-term storage, backups, .., CS-Studio for your site that's configured to read from your CA gateways and archive appliance, ..)
Note that we do have an open issue for reading from the archive appliance into the data browser, https://github.com/ControlSystemStudio/cs-studio/issues/1769
