Experimental Physics and Industrial Control System
Dear Colleague,
I am working at SLAC for LSLS-II experiment and I looking for your input for experience in usage of Keithley 6485/6487 pico-Ammeter.
I found your references at

Let, me know if I overstepping your privacy by sending this email.
I have the following questions:
1. I am planning to use it for beam average current using Faraday Cup detector for 20-300pC charge. There are competing scenario when I need to operate at high (1MHz rate) and low beam rate (100Hz or lower).
My first question is anybody used device for similar condition and measured current accurately with pulsing input using internal filtering of device?
2. There are options to have external LPF, however it is not simple task due to leakage of component used, plus additional capacitance introduce additional noise for measurements. So, any suggestion if you have any.
3. I am trying to simulate beam pulses using of the shelf pulse generator, however there some imperfections in pulse generator response so it is hard to characterize system behavior without perfection of real beam source. Any suggestions on how to test it without beam.
4. Any practical setting you are recommending for improvement average current measurement.
Regards, Leonid Sapozhnikov
