Dear EPICS community
The SESAME light source project is very close to having first beam in the storage ring. This would be first for Science in the Middle East. It now faces the unfortunate situation that first beamlines are not ready. As part of completing
the XAFS /XRF beamlines there is work to do in delivering the beamline controls system.
I would like to ask if someone is prepared to help work with SESAME to delivering the initial beamline control system. I am thinking it will take a substantial part of 6 month of someone’s effort, with a latter phase needing to be
at SESAME. I realise that controls and software effort is tight for many projects, but for SESAME to achieve an operational beamline is monumental step. I think this could be achieved with support and agreement from a lab management or as an individual.
Immediate needs are basic motor control with some pseudo motors for optics in addition to the implementation of the detector readings to EPICS such as our SCA DXP mercury from XIA. This could start by working remotely than through
visiting SESAME, outside Amman in Jordan, supported by SESAME for implementation debugging/refinements.
Many thanks for considering this.
Regards.
