Also for what it's worth: I had no trouble building caQtDM on Centos7, which I believe should be very similar to Scientific Linux 7.  I did change the python version from "2.6" to "2.7" in caQtDM_ENV before running caQtDM_BuildAll, but everything built and runs OK.
