Hi Lin,

My understanding is that Michael’s mrfioc2 support does not include the EVM-300 and EVR-300. There is good news however. Babak Kalantari and Roger Biffiger, both with PSI, have worked on supporting these modules. I downloaded their support a few weeks ago and was able to compile it for VxWorks 6.9. The software can be found at https://github.com/paulscherrerinstitute/mrfioc2

    Hi Lin,
Michael might have the answers for all your questions.
It would be a valuable test if you can compile and run it in your environment since you are evaluating it for your next project.

    Thanks,
    Guobao

        Hello Michael,

I have two questions about this new release.

        1. Does it support (fully, partly or not) the MRF VME-EVM-300 and VME-EVR-300 (which are not in the supported hardware list yet)? If not, is there any fork of mrfioc2 that can support them?
        2. Is it already perfectly compatible with VxWorks (say VxWorks 6.8)? I remember it was not fully tested or guaranteed to work properly on VxWorks a couple of years ago.

I ask because my colleagues planned to build a timing system prototype using the MRF VME-EVM-300 and VME-EVR-300 for our HEPS (High Energy Photon Source) project. We are now evaluating the operating system and the EPICS driver for it, and VxWorks is still our preference.

        Any suggestion is appreciated.

        Thanks,
        Lin
