Subject: caQtDM questions

I’ve been looking into caQtDM (I’ve used it for a few small projects already).  Some questions have come up, that don’t seem to be mentioned in the manual.

Is there a way for the waterfall plot to plot multiple scalar channels or only a single channel? I couldn’t seem to multiple channels to work, but I don’t know if it is supposed to. Could one construct a vector from several scalars using a soft variable?

Is there any documentation on PV specifications?

Soft pv’s appear to be an option, but I don’t see how to create them.  We have some PVs with {curly braces in their name (i.e., {}) caQtDM use these for specifying JSON strings to set the display rate.

If there a way to escape this or otherwise enclose it so that the entire thing can be considered part of the channel name?

EDM uses prefixes: EPICS\ for epics PVs (this is the default, but specifying this can work around parsing issues), LOC\ for local PVs, and CALC\ for calculations.
