Hi Randall,

The SmarGon is controlled by a PowerPMAC so you can use the 'pmac' support module to control it.

At Diamond we used an additional PLC to get translate the SmarAct selected positional variables to ones we typically use for coordinate systems, but other than that, the pmac driver will allow you to drive the axes as any other motorised stage.

Thanks,

James

Subject: Driver for Smargon gniometer

We have a Smargon goniometer (from SmarAct) and we’re trying to run it using EPICS. Is there a driver available for this? I’ve searched but not found anything that seems appropriate. Or do I need to use a non-specific pmac driver and customize it for the Smargon?

Thanks.

Randall
