For some reason I had incorrectly assumed that expandVars.pl had the same logic as genVersionHeader.pl has to only override the output file if it would be changed. This would be a nice project for someone with some perl experience. IMO. Base development badly needs a second perl dev. to help Andrew with these scripting tasks.
