We are using Docker for the PANDA Detector Control System.
IOC build with base 7 under Debian and then copied into a new image "From scratch".
It has a similar size but a lot of support modules compiled into it.
There is a lot of stuff you can do with docker and EPICS!!

How about how to build the smallest possible Docker image for a generic softioc?
Here is my first attempt (50MB):
Built epics-base with centos 7 then copy into a busybox image. Seems like a hack, but works.
