Hi Alex, Ibrahim,
Thank you for the suggestion - I had seen the omega i series IOC, and was planning to use that as a base if the need for developing a driver arises. Looking through the i series manual it seems there are some similar commands to those used by the Pt series,
but the protocols are not a 1-to-1 match, which likely means at least some development work will be required. Thank you for the links they will both come in helpful.
Best,
Jakub

Here is an internal link to the protocol file for the Omega I series IOC if you have not already seen it:
https://gitlab.nsls2.bnl.gov/EPS/omega_i_series/blob/master/protocols/omega-CNi32.proto
This should tell you whether or not they are similar.

Hello Jakob,
We use CNI3253-C24-DC for rack temperature control applications. We use simple StreamDevice commands to read temperature and write setpoints based on the following manual: omega_CNi16_communications.pdf (lbl.gov). Let me know if you want further information.

Hello all,
Before I begin making plans to develop a new driver for this purpose, has anyone developed EPICS support for the Omega Platinum Series of PID controllers?
The specific model I am thinking of is the CN8PT-445, however, based on my preliminary research it seems that the communication protocols are shared between the models in the Platinum line:
If anyone has had a chance to work with one of these and develop an EPICS driver for it, please let me know!
Thanks, Jakub |
