Hi Daniel,

Just in case Ralph has disconnected for the evening I'll answer: He meant to have you set DTYP to "Raw Soft Channel" since that's how the device entries spell it.

Hey Ralph,

(I hope I'm responding to this thread correctly, I just changed my tech-talk subscription from nscl.msu.edu to frib.msu.edu)

Well that sure makes a lot more sense, thanks!

I did run into an issue doing this, though. For reasons I don't understand, the IOC doesn't seem to like the following line in my mbbo definition:

field(DTYP, "Raw Soft")

At IOC startup, I get the following:

Can't set "REA_BTS41:STRIP_D1391:POS_SEL.DTYP" to "Raw Soft"

I figured I could take this support being there for granted.

If I grep my IOC for "Raw Soft" I get the following, which leads me to believe that it is in fact there, but maybe there's more to it?

dbd/rea-ops.dbd:device(mbbo, CONSTANT, devMbboSoftRaw, "Raw Soft Channel")
dbd/rea-ops.dbd:device(bo, CONSTANT, devBoSoftRaw, "Raw Soft Channel")
dbd/rea-ops.dbd:device(mbbi, CONSTANT, devMbbiSoftRaw, "Raw Soft Channel")
dbd/rea-ops.dbd:device(bi, CONSTANT, devBiSoftRaw, "Raw Soft Channel")
dbd/rea-ops.dbd:device(mbbiDirect, CONSTANT, devMbbiDirectSoftRaw, "Raw Soft Channel")
dbd/rea-ops.dbd:device(mbboDirect, CONSTANT, devMbboDirectSoftRaw, "Raw Soft Channel")
dbd/rea-ops.dbd:device(ai, CONSTANT, devAiSoftRaw, "Raw Soft Channel")
dbd/rea-ops.dbd:device(ao, CONSTANT, devAoSoftRaw, "Raw Soft Channel")
(these device() lines are also seen in my rea-opsApp/src/O.Common/rea-ops.dbd file)

Am I missing something here?

Thanks again!
-Dan
