Subject: Galil controller with incremental encoder question

Folks,

I have a Galil DMC-4183 controller.  Some of the channels have incremental (quadrature) encoders.  I set the motor record to UEIP (Use Encoder If Present) to 1, and the RRBV reads the encoder value correctly.

The problem is that when I put the motor record into SET mode and type a new position it sets RVAL correctly, but it does not set RRBV.  This would make sense if this were an absolute encoder, but for an incremental encoder I do want to set the current readback position.

What am I missing?

Thanks,

Mark
