(Don’t ask me what Unix database files mean in this context. Maybe somebody else has an idea?)


That's from Base up to 3.13, when the static database access libraries would work on the host (Unix only) as part of the "dbst" binary or on the IOC (vxWorks only).

There is one interesting note in the above document:

“VDCT: A Java based database configuration tool which is quickly becoming the recommended database configuration tool.”.

 

“Quickly…” 😉


Just replace "is" with "was" and it's a nice part of history.
