Since your problems only showed up when the compile got to cas, you probably have a working copy of the CA client libraries and all of iocCore. The cas directory is one of the last parts to be built, and is only needed if you need to build a server tool such as the PV Gateway. The IOC still uses a separate server implementation, thus you should be able to create and compile IOCs and extensions against the build you have so far.
