Recently, I’ve got the similar problem, that is simply processing :SysReset does not restart the IOC. However, the IOC log explained, which says: “waiting for caPutLogTask to terminate”. Finally, I got into the IOC console via telnet and restart it.

 

I’m not sure if you had similar pending tasks that prevent the rebooting, but that’s all I have learned, hope it helps.

Although the issue does not appear on an IOC on the same server, I found out that the IOC is using relatively older modules versions; asyn 4.38 and stream device 2.8.10. I will try updating them and re-build the IOC.

Also what version of EPICS Base is this IOC running, and do you see the same problem from other IOCs running the same Base vesion?

We have a device controlled via Stream device and the IOC also has devIocStats module configured. When rebooting the IOC by writing 1 to “:SysReset.PROC”, the IOC does not exit, the IOC shell prints the message “IOC Reboot Started” I think and nothing happens, while on most other IOCs it is working well. What could be the issue here?
