Minor VLinac compilation problem on OS X 10.5?

Dear Tech-Talk,

so I finally got around to installing more of EPICS on my Mac  
(PowerBook G4, OS X 10.5.2). I came across this error message while  
trying to compile the Virtual Linac:

make[2]: *** No rule to make target `../../lib/darwin-ppc/libXm. 
3.dylib', needed by `build'.  Stop.

I checked in MacPorts and OpenMotif provides libXm.4.dylib. When  
changing the following in the Makefile located in install/App

LIBLIST_Darwin := libXm.3.dylib

to

LIBLIST_Darwin := libXm.4.dylib

I still get an error message.

When commenting out the line the compilation proceeded without any  
errors. Running the program I didn't come across any obvious problems.

So my question is: did I do something "illegal"?
