Experimental Physics and Industrial Control System
This announcement is rather tardy, but here it is.
The Libera Electron Beam Position Monitor (www.i-tech.si) has a variety of
device support options, including Tango and a somewhat minimal EPICS
driver provided by the vendor. However at Diamond we have developed an
EPICS driver which supports all of the functionality available from
Libera.
This driver has gone through a number of releases, and has been in
operation at Diamond for several years. For the last year I've been
unable to make source releases due to a conversation with the vendor about
providing access to register level documentation. As they have now
released their reference driver under the GPL we can now publish the
Diamond Libera EPICS driver.
Previous releases have been published through SourceForge, at
http://sourceforge.net/projects/libera-epics
but I am underwhelmed by recent developments there (I know they have to
make their money somehow) and we've finally got our own external web space
working. So to download the Diamond Libera EPICS driver please visit
http://controls.diamond.ac.uk/downloads/libera
The current release works with most extant versions of the Libera core
software (basically the Linux install, device driver and FPGA
distribution), but not yet with the Libera 2.0 release. If you're
interested in using our driver with Libera 2.0, please drop me a line -- I
should have this working very soon.
