Problem with medmfonts.ali running under Ubuntu 1204

Hi,
I seem to be having a fonts problem running medm under Ubuntu 1204
I did the usual cat of medmfonts.ali >> /usr/share/fonts/X11/misc/fonts.alias the found that all fonts
larger than 22 points were missing when I ran medm.  Any thoughts?

There have been no problems up to and including Ubuntu 1010

These fonts seem to be missing in the latest Ubuntu:
widgetDM_22 -sony-fixed-medium-r-normal--24-170-100-100-c-120-iso8859-1
widgetDM_24 -sony-fixed-medium-r-normal--24-170-100-100-c-120-iso8859-1
widgetDM_30 -adobe-times-medium-r-normal--25-180-100-100-p-125-iso8859-1
widgetDM_36 -adobe-helvetica-medium-r-normal--34-240-100-100-p-176-iso8859-1
widgetDM_40 -adobe-helvetica-bold-r-normal--34-240-100-100-p-182-iso8859-1
widgetDM_48 -adobe-helvetica-bold-r-normal--34-240-100-100-p-182-iso8859-1
widgetDM_60 -adobe-helvetica-bold-r-normal--34-240-100-100-p-182-iso8859-1

Could this be an open source license issue for these fonts?
As a quick work-around I copied the font for widgetDM_20 to all the sizes above this,
to get at least something displayed for these sizes in the mean time.  As below:

widgetDM_24 -misc-fixed-medium-r-normal--20-140-100-100-c-100-iso8859-1
